The Peter-Paul-Kirche (church) of 1763 is located in the center of Bad Oldesloe. The late-baroque period church owes its current appearance to some fundamental modifications in 1961. The large baroque altar had to make way for the darker stone-construction during this process. At the same time, these modifications provided enough room for three windows designed by Siegfried Assmann, which give particular character to the choir room. The Peter-Paul-Kirche also has a stone tablet to acknowledge the distinguished baroque composer Dietrich Buxtehude, who is said to have been born in Bad Oldesloe. In this spirit, the church offers the perfect environment for the chamber-music, choir singing, and soloist performances of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival.
