The Tour
Every year beside the concerts in Schleswig-Holstein the Festival Orchestra plays several concerts in other cities in Germany and other countries. In 2010 the Festival Orchestra will go on tour to Warsaw, Prague and Budapest and will perform in Wiesbaden at the Rheingau Musik Festival with Christoph Eschenbach and in Berlin at the Festival young.euro.classic with Iván Fischer.

Chamber Music
Chamber music will play an important role at the Orchestral Academy alongside the orchestral work: The participants will rehearse chamber music works with the teachers, which they will then perform at the Salzau chamber concerts and also in the official programme of the festival.
The pieces will be sort out of the management of the academy but wishes and ideas of the young musicians are very welcome.

Therapeutic seminars
In addition to the orchestra rehearsals, the
chamber music and the tours the academy will offer some therapeutic
seminars for the musicians. Each student has the possibility to take
part in various lessons, for example "Alexander Technik",
Dispositionstraining and Mental training and some other ones. The
detailed programme will be announced at short notice.

Conducting Masterclass
Following the tradition of Leonard Bernstein’s masterclasses in Salzau Iván Fischer will work with a selected number of young conductors during his stay in Salzau. Further information about the Conducting Masterclass and the application procedure will be available at this website soon.
