Since 1987 the Masterclasses at the Musikhochschule Lübeck have been part of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival’s programme, where internationally renowned artists devote themselves to the advanced training of highly talented students of music at the Musikhochschule Lübeck. Every year about 150 active participants from all over the world come to Lübeck. Situated in the middle of the historic town of Lübeck, the premises of the Musikhochschule offer active participants excellent practice facilities surrounded by the beautiful ambience of listed merchant and citizens’ houses.
The ›Masterclasses at the Musikhochschule Lübeck‹ do not exclude the public, but give visitors the opportunity to gain an insight into the pedagogical design of the masterclasses as observers. Concerts, arising from the masterclasses’ artistic work, will be performed at the Musikhochschule and within the Festival’s programme. The concert’s programmes result from the artistic work of the respective course.
The personal commitment of private persons and institutions enables the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival to provide a limited number of scholarships for selected students.
