»Poland in Pulse« inspired Schleswig-Holstein
The 25th Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival closed successfully on August, 29th. Prof. Rolf Beck and his team presented over a period of seven weeks the musical nation Poland in its fascinating variety. The concerts took place in 74 venues in 49 places. All in all »Poland in Pulse« inspired more than 130.000 visitors. The great jubilee concert attracted more than 6000 festival-fans who celebrated 25 years of SHMF in a six and a half hours concert marathon together with international stars and festival founder Justus Frantz. Out of 136 concerts, five Music Festivals in the countryside and two Music Festivals for Children, 80 events were sold out. Projects placing emphasis on the Country of focus were out of stock as well: the »Polish Requiem« conducted by its composer Krzysztof Penderecki, the concert with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra Katowice lead by Tadeusz Strugala, and the string player evenings with Vadim Repin and the Polish Chamber Orchestra. Impressively attractive to the audience were the stars of the Polish Crossover-scene: From »Kroke«, »Motion Trio« and Karolina Glazer to »Affabre Concinui« and the Warsaw Village Band - every concert was sold out. Next year the festival focus will be on Turkey.
