Poland will be focused in 2010
The 25th Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival will set focus on Poland in its anniversary year. »Poland is a musical nation which offers incredibly appealing outlooks – the Chopin-year is just one keyword in this context«, explains the festival’s director Professsor Rolf Beck. »Look forward to discovering with us the abundance of music and culture which is native in our neighboring country.«
New CD-series documents the work of the SHMF-academies

The Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival entered into a cooperation with hänssler CLASSIC, the renowned classic label nearby Stuttgart, in order to document the work of the orchestral academy and the choir academy. The recording of Georg Friedrich Händel’s »Alexander’s Feast« opens up the series. The Schleswig-Holstein Festival Choir and the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra presented the piece under the direction of Rolf Beck in the castle of Kiel in March 2009.
Strictly speaking this is a double CD-premiere because the concert of the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra, which it performed under the direction of Christoph Eschenbach on their tour through Japan in 2005, is also exclusively available on CD now. Further recordings will follow.

The CDs can be ordered here.
