 The W.D.R.-Fähre that usually commutes between Amrum and Wyk (on the island of Föhr) has nothing to do with Westdeutscher Rundfunk (radio station with initials W.D.R.), rather with the steamship Wyker Dampfschiff Reederei. The car-ferry will anchor exclusively for the concerts of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in Wyk’s harbor on Föhr. The surface on which cars are usually stored will be transformed through stage, carpet, seats, and lights into a unique room and only floating concert hall of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. The concerts will be an exceptional experience for the audience and the artists alike. Even Minister President Peter Harry Carstensen displayed his excitement about the atmosphere in 2006.
After the concert a small ferry will bring the audience back to Dagebüll.
An outing that is really worth while!
