 Kampnagel is one of the largest and most important locations for free music and theater in Europe. The culture factory is known in a local and international context for innovative contemporary theater, dance, performance, and other art forms. The premises of the former crane factory were rebuilt into a multifunctional theater complex twenty years ago. Today Kampnagel accommodates six stages with a capacity of somewhere between 100 and 850 seats, a movie theater, an exhibition room, practice rooms, debut performances, and events on its 12,000 square meters. The events of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival are certainly among the highlights of the summer.
