Aurubis is the largest copper producer in Europe and the world leader in copper recycling. They produce some 1 million tons of copper cathodes each year and from them a variety of copper products. Since April, 2002, Arubis has granted access to an historic hall located on the grounds of its facility in Hamburg, providing a unique location for events of all kinds. The original atmosphere of this communication center, which used to serve as a locksmithery, has been remarkably preserved through delicate restoration work. This old locksmithery seats up to 600 people, and as a concert venue for the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, uniquely combines classical music and industrial charm. The SHMF Chamber Orchestra routinely performs at this location.
