 The Theater in the Stadthalle (town hall) Neumünster is well incorporated both architecturally and organizationally in the Stadthalle Neumünster. The building itself is from the year 1986 and was awarded the BDA-Förderpreis (architecture prize) by the German Architecture Alliance in 1988. Located on the square »Kleinflecken«, the cultural center is accommodated and run by Hallenbetrieben Neumünster Ltd., near the theater. The theater program is composed exclusively of guest performances. The theater itself consists of three convention rooms, a large auditorium for diverse events, and the town hall restaurant. Since December 2006 the museum »Tuch + Technik« is connected to the Stadthalle with a bridge and is projected to be opened on October 13, 2007. The theater will be used in the summer as a venue of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, with room for around 580 concert guests.
