The hangar 7 was constructed while the new centre for machine care on the Lufthansa site was being built in Hamburg early in the 1990s. Its approximate size of 12.000 sqm makes it the biggest hangar on the airport ground. The hall can accommodate two planes of the type Boeing 747-400 and an Airbus A300. In the two main building docks airliners plus VIP- and government aircrafts from all over the world are maintained. This year the SHMF is for the first time staging a performance in this singular atmosphere.
