After moving out of the Dammtorstreet and the closure of the old, landmarked movie hall the theater »Metropolis« is now housed in St. Georg in the former Savoy Theater until the »Opera passage in the Metropolis Building« is renovated. »Metropolis« has influenced Hamburg’s culture and art scene for more than 30 years. Every month more than 50 films are shown: Historical and modern, scientific and popular aspects characterize the broad horizon of a lively movie culture. The atmosphere of the »Metropolis« in the Savoy-Theater offers a unique setting for a SHMF-concert.
