The gothic church St. Johannis built of traditional northern German brickwork was constructed in the 14th century. The spacious nave and the 65-meter spire of the church are an impressive feature of the city center. The church was named after John the Baptist, who is shown on the window above the altar, which was donated by the German Emperor in 1906. In his era the church became an archetype for churches in Schleswig-Holstein due to its extraordinary modernity. After a break of several years the SHMF is looking forward to being guest in St. Johannis. Ev.-luth. Kirchengemeinde St. Johannis Bei der St. Johanniskirche 2 21335 Lüneburg
