In 2014, Anne-Sophie Mutter and Lambert Orkis published their "Silver Album," and those who are reminded by the title of a silver anniversary are not so wrong because the CD celebrates the 25th anniversary of a very special artists' partnership. In 1988 the great German violinist and the American gave their first concert, and it was already clear to them that they harmonized perfectly in every respect. Anne-Sophie Mutter has emphasized again and again that chamber music only works well when both partners connect with each other, and this is definitely the case here. Lambert Orkis has a lot to contribute in this duo. For eleven years he worked with Rostropovich and many other great musicians have lined his path. The duo has already performed at the SHMF nine times, but the last concert was almost twenty years old and the program was never as French as this year - a wonderful nod by the two to this year's SHMF featured composer.
