Mandolinen-Workshop mit Avi Avital, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, 17.07.23

Mandolin workshop with Avi Avital

18 - 22 July 2026

Lübeck University of Music

Following its great success in 2023, the SHMF is once again inviting you to an intensive workshop with star mandolinist Avi Avital. For one week, mandolin players of all ages and abilities will join the internationally acclaimed virtuoso to explore the fascinating sound world of the plucked instrument - from the finest solo nuances to orchestral splendour. Avi Avital has long since proven on the world's great stages just how versatile this small lute of medieval nobility can sound. In the workshop, with the active support of Alon Sariel, Steffen Trekel and Lukasz Kuropaczewski, he works with the participants on their sound and technique - in the large orchestra and in smaller rehearsals. Advanced students have the opportunity to take part in an individual masterclass with one of the instructors and play a solo. The course ends with a concert at the SHMF.

Conditions of participation:

We are looking for musicians aged 16 and over - beginners with at least two years' playing experience and advanced players - who enjoy playing their instrument. Previous experience is not required. In addition to mandolins, we are also looking for mandolas, mandocellos and guitars.
The workshop is open to all levels. Advanced players or students of the mandolin have the opportunity to attend a masterclass with one of the instructors and/or be assigned a solo. If you are interested in a masterclass or a solo, please complete the relevant fields in the online registration form and send an application video to campus[at]shmf.de. Places are limited!
