Masterclass Midori
17 - 21 August 2026
Lübeck University of Music
Every summer, the SHMF masterclasses transform the Lübeck University of Music into a place of intense encounters and artistic inspiration. Here, young musicians learn from the greatest in their field. The Japanese violinist Midori has been one of these personalities for decades. She not only shines on the world's great stages, but is also passionately committed to musical education and the promotion of young talent. She made her debut at the SHMF back in 1986 and has been closely associated with the festival ever since, performing in around 30 acclaimed concerts and giving numerous masterclasses. This summer, Midori will once again be teaching technical subtleties and the art of creating music with expression and depth. Participants hone their interpretation, sound and presence - and experience an intensive working phase that leaves a lasting impression. The course ends with a concert at the SHMF.
