The Lithuanian cellist and conductor David Geringas can look back on a long career as a musician and lecturer. With an unusually broad repertoire, intellectual rigor and stylistic versatility, the Rostropovich student has a renowned place in the music world.
For a long time he taught as professor at the music academies of Hamburg, Lübeck and the Hanns Eisler in Berlin. For many decades he led a cello class in Lübeck which was celebrated worldwide and from which cello stars such as Gustav Rivinius, Jens Peter Maintz, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, Maximilian Hornung and Sol Gabetta emerged. After a long break he is now returning to the masterclasses at the Musikhochschule Lübeck.

The final concert will take place on August 3rd at the estate of Hasselburg.
