The church on the market square is located in Hamburg Blankenese in the middle of a district that developed when the fisherman’s settlement around the Süllberg area grew into and merged with Dockenhuden farm. The more recently added areas emphasize the range of middle to upper-class flair in the Blankenese community. The church building was constructed in 1896 in neo-gothic style and the altar room underwent renovation in 1958. The small church has seating capacity for about 400 concert guests and is an ideal location for choir and church music.
