In 2015, a new museum complex was added to the north end of the old town island of Lübeck, which has been recognized as an UNESCO World Heritage site. This includes a modern museum with an integrated archaeologically prepared excavation site, the historical Burgkloster monument as well as an easily-accessible open area that points the way to many historical paths. The European Hansemuseum covers a total area of 7,405 square meters in the Marien-Magdalenen district, located in the northwest section of the old town of Lübeck. In this opening year of the Hansemuseum, the SHMF has already planned a concert evening on its grounds.
