The church of Schönberg was first mentioned in a document in 1259 and is located at the highest point of the "Sconeberg", which gave Schönberg its name. Today's church with just around 1000 seats is a new building by Johann Adam Richter from the years 1780-84. With its location on the market square, surrounded by green meadows and old trees, the church forms the heart of Schönberg's parish and also provides space for concerts by the parish's own choirs and other ensembles.
