The Schleswig-Holstein open-air museum in Molfsee (near Kiel) is the largest open-air museum in northern Germany. The 60 hectare premise, consisting of meadows, gardens, fields, and ponds, is home to over 70 historic buildings, grounds, and mills of the diverse Schleswig-Holstein landscape, as well as the chattels and implements, which are waiting to be experienced under the motto “living history”. The museum’s “Winkelscheune” (barn) is a picturesque location for chamber music: Enjoy classical music among the historic ambience of a world, which, although long gone, appears wonderfully alive.
