The stone church of St. George and Mauritius was built in the 13th century and is the focal point in the community of Flemhude. First mentioned in 1361, the external appearance of the church has remained almost unchanged until today. The interior, however, is characterized by many eras. The baptismal font, for example, is Romanesque, the wall paintings are medieval, and the roof is from the Rococo period. Due to the last renovation in 1962, the main entrance of the church was moved from the south to the west side.
