Flensburg / St. Marien Kirche
St. Mary's Lutheran Church is the oldest church in Flensburg's city centre. It is located in the heart of the old town, at the northern end of the 1000 metre long pedestrian street. St Mary's Church already had an organ in the 15th century, as an organist is mentioned as early as 1484. In 1913, a new organ was built by the Walcker company. This highly romantic and fundamental instrument was replaced in 1983 by a new organ from Marcussen (Aabenraa, DK). The beautifully voiced instrument has 41 stops on 3 manuals and pedal. With its universal disposition, a large part of the organ literature can be performed in the appropriate style.
