In the heart of Oldenburg in Holstein lies the Oldenburger Wall – one of the most significant archaeological monuments in the North and a former power center of Slavic rule from the 7th century. The Wall Museum is also located here, vividly presenting the early medieval history of Oldenburg as a center of trade, politics, and religion in East Holstein through archaeological finds and reconstructed settlements. On the grounds of the open-air museum, with views of the Wallsee and next to the reconstructed Slavic settlement, the SHMF hosts open-air concerts.
