“They are the real deal!” said legendary jazz musician and Michael Jackson producer Quincy Jones about the six-piece a cappella band “Vocal Sampling” from Cuba. And indeed, the multiple Latin Grammy award-winning vocal formation is described worldwide as one of the most spectacular and extraordinary phenomena in contemporary music. Using only their voices and hands, they manage to create the multifaceted sound cosmos of a full-blown salsa orchestra. What began 30 years ago as a way to pass time during school breaks developed into a career for the six music students from Havana that has led them to some of the most renowned concert venues in the world, like the Montreux Jazz Festival, London’s Royal Albert Hall, the Opera Theatre in Tel Aviv, and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
