Omer Meir Wellber is not only a conductor, but a gifted keyboard virtuoso on several instruments. For his concert in Rellingen, where he will brilliantly conclude his portrait at SHMF, he has invited a very special artist and says: “I share an extraordinary friendship and a great trust with the pianist Daniel Ciobanu. I met Daniel when he participated in the legendary 2017 Arthur Rubinstein Piano Competition in Tel Aviv. He won second prize but was by far the greatest talent for me. Since then, we have done several projects together. Our joint concert at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival will be great virtuosic fun. We will play folkloristic music – for example, “The Hungarian Dances” by Johannes Brahms, “Petrushka” by Igor Stravinsky and the “Hungarian Rhapsody” by Franz Liszt. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Sonata for Piano Four-Hands” is also included, because Mozart spins a very funny dialog between the two pianists, which we really enjoy.”
The Festival Association is the concert sponsor.
