"Ménage à trois"

Happenstance sometimes writes the most beautiful stories: Albert Wieder (tuba) joined the famous and internationally acclaimed brass combo “Mnozil Brass” in 2015 as a temporary replacement. Together with Leonard Paul (trombone) and Thomas Gansch (trumpet), the trio became responsible then on for an encore at the end of every Mnozil Brass show. And they played a different encore on every tour. Out of the blue and very spontaneously, the experts in their field played their way through the most diverse musical worlds with pleasure. They rearranged well-known pop songs, jazzed things up, experimented, and wandered through the history of music from the classical past to the diversity of the modern age with new arrangements and original compositions. Over time, an entire concert program developed with songs from all corners of their three universes: From George Michael, Franz Schubert, Chuck Mangione, Johann Strauss, to Toots Thielemans, Udo Jürgens, Henry Mancini, and Billy Joel. Bass, melody, and harmony – that’s all you need. “You could also say ‘Earth, Wind and Fire’ – but that’s already taken – so we want to call it ‘Wieder, Gansch & Paul!” jokes the trio.
