Friedrichstadt / St. Christophorus-Kirche
The St. Christophorus-Kirche in Friedrichstadt, built between 1633 and 1649, is a simple church with a multi-cornered chancel made of small yellow bricks. The massive western tower received its succinctly Baroque crowning in the 1860s. The outer form of the church has otherwise not changed since its creation. The Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival recently (2006) discovered the beautiful, little church as a concert venue. The unusually clear acoustics of the church allow the amazing sounds of even smaller instrumentations to be enjoyed to their fullest.
