Schubidu! Maybe you have already done this before: You hear a really great song and want to sing along, but do not know or understand the lyrics because they are in a foreign language, so you simply sing “schubidubidu.” So far, so clear. But what is a Schubadour? Does he also sing “schubidubidu”? No, Schubadour is a fantasy name and is the combination of the name Schubert and the word Troubadour. Troubadours existed mainly in the Middle Ages. They were often knights who performed their own songs and poetry at court. Franz Schubert, the famous Austrian composer who is particularly appreciated for his art of the song would live many centuries later. Bryan Benner, an entertaining young singer, not only loves the world of troubadours and the songs of Franz Schubert, he also enjoys pop music and modern guitar sounds. As a “Schubadour,” he brings everything together under one roof and sings and plays old songs with a pop twist that makes the audience jump out of their seats.
